In 2008 Marvel debuted their new cinematic universe with a B-list hero origin story, Iron Man, and it completely delivers. This movie was such a breath of fresh air compared to the other superhero movies I've been watching recently and it reminds me how good this movie truly is. I want to start off with the visuals. I think this movie is visually pleasing, I love the settings. I thought the CGI looked really good throughout the movie. I loved the grounded and industrial color grading of this movie, I think it makes the movie look so much better. I thought the pacing was great, nothing felt too rushed and it truly felt like every scene served some sort of purpose. I thought the story was intriguing throughout and I thought Tony Stark was such an interesting character and I loved seeing him grow and change through the movie. I thought Robert Downey Jr. did an amazing job playing him and his acting was incredible in this movie. To add on, I thought the acting as a whole was amazing in this movie. I liked how perfectly balanced being light-hearted and funny and being serious, it worked really well. Obadiah Stane was a really compelling villain and I loved seeing him turn more and more evil throughout the film. Last thing I want to note is I liked how they dropped the audience right into the action then started the exposition, I thought it worked really well and grabbed my attention from the start. Overall, this is a great movie with such great visuals and acting.

In 2019 Marvel debuted another superhero to add to their MCU roster, Captain Marvel, and it's alright. I don't hate this movie but I am not really fond of it either. To start off with the positives, I do like the Earth settings the movie chooses, I think they are visually pleasing and definitely make the movie look better. I also think they did a good job encapsulating that 90s feel through both the character designs, along with the set designs and the settings they choose. I thought Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn did a great job in their roles and I found them rather funny. It honestly impresses me how well they made a young Nick Fury look using 70 year old Jackson. I found aspects of the story cool, like Fury and Carol's team up and how Carol inspired the Avengers Initiative. I also liked the Skrulls in this movie, they are such a cool concept and I wish they were utilized more in other movies. I also found the CGI to be more than tolerable in this movie, I didn't find any truly poor CGI moments besides maybe when Carol was falling right before she found out she could fly. But onto my negatives, I found the overall movie somewhat boring. There were good parts here and there but overall it just sort of dragged through. I also thought the progression was sort of weird, like it went from just being this group of Kree warriors to the whole entire army sending nukes and it just came out of nowhere for me. I also thought Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel was a overall boring character. I thought Brie Larson did a really good job, especially with the script that she was given, but the writers practically did nothing to make this character super interesting. It's a problem when the side characters have more depth and personality than the actual protagonists. I liked the message of the movie but that too wasn't fleshed out enough to actually mean something. Overall, this movie has a lot of redeeming qualities but it also has a lot of irredeemable qualities as well, making it just mediocre.

In 2011 Marvel released their 5th film in their cinematic universe, Captain America: The First Avenger, and it mostly delivers. This movie does a lot of things right and honestly it could be higher if it wasn't for the mediocre CGI. But to start off with positives, I want to talk about the acting. I think that was definitely the highlight of the movie. Everyone was so committed to their role and you could tell. I thought Chris Evans made a great Steve Rogers and I thought he played him really well. I thought the story was good for the most part but I felt by the end it did get a little rushed. I liked the message and I think it was overall a very inspirational film. I thought Hugo Weaving played a great Red Skull. I loved the color grading of this movie and I thought it really encapsulated the 40s, I thought the set design did as well. But even though I do have some positives I do have some negatives too. One that was already stated before is the CGI. I did think there were some great scenes with CGI use but there was a lot of mediocre and it overall just ruined the immersivity for me. I also thought the relationships weren't fleshed out. Like Red Skull and Captain America truly only talk once before their big fight. Steve and Peggy do have a lot of screen time but it feels like they never go anywhere in their relationship leading to the ending, which I still love, being less emotional then it could've been with a little more exploration in their relationship. But speaking of the ending, I thought it was amazing, definitely the best scene in the movie and truly shows us the type of hero Steve is and it's beautiful and also rather sad, which I loved. Overall, I think this movie is a solid origin story that truly makes you care for the hero, Captain America.

In 2026 Ketchup Entertainment released Warner Bros. shelved project, Coyote vs. Acme, and it becomes a standout among all the other great projects of 2026. I learned about this movie when it was still shelved and it absolutely devastated me. I love Wile E. Coyote and The Roadrunner, two of my favorite characters of all time, but it's unfortunate how they barely get any representation anymore, only having small roles in the Looney Tunes franchise, so the idea of a whole movie about them being shelved hurt. But then April came, and the first trailer came out, I was so hyped, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I want to start off with the animation and live action fusion because I thought it was done really well. I could tell so much love and dedication went into each animation and they just looked so well done, I thought the designs looked perfect and it felt so amazing and immersive. I thought the story was absolutely amazing and such a cool concept. Even though Wile E. Coyote has been around for nearly 80 years I thought it was such a fresh and cool concept to have him sue the corporation that provides all his machines. I loved the messages about how it is okay to fail and you shouldn't be afraid of it, I think it is such a beautiful message and I think Wile E. Coyote is the perfect representation of it. I also thought the themes of late stage capitalism portrayed by Acme and the idea that big corporations can get away with anything with enough money, and I think that is really applicable to this day and age. I thought the way they fleshed out Wile E. was beautiful and I loved his character so much. I thought Kevin and Paige were very interesting and definitely added to the story. I thought the comedy was hilarious. I'm not one to laugh that much at a movie but this movie was genuinely so funny and I thought the jokes were so good. But even with the comedy I thought the movie did a really good job with the emotion parts as well. I nearly cried when Roadrunner came on stand to represent Wile E., I'm tearing up right now thinking about it. I thought Kevin and Wile E.'s fight was also really well done, not just with dialogue but with the way it was filmed. I thought it stayed true to Looney Tunes as well which is another thing I loved. Lastly, I think the story behind how this movie came to be is beautiful and literally encapsulates the message and I think it just proves that no one should ever give up, just like Wile E. Overall, this movie has become one of my favorite movies of all time and I will definitely be watching this again.
