Spirited Away

Wow this movie was amazing. Spirited Away is a beautiful coming of age and fantasy story that follows Chichiro who gets stuck in the spirit world. The story sees her try to return to the human world and save her parents who got turned into pigs. This movie is super visually appealing. All the weird looking spirits and bright colors were super satisfying to look at. I remember watching part of this movie in a sushi restaurant on an TV over the summer I didn’t know what it was. When I got home I looked up what it was because it intrigued me so much so i was super excited to finally watch it. Watching Chihiro grow up as she overcomes the many challenges she faces was super sweet. The ending was also really good as Haku remembers his name and Chihiro and her parents return home. This happy ending is a stark contrast to the other studio ghibli film I have watched, Grave of the fireflies. Overall this is a very good movie and I would definitely recommend.
