Hereditary
This was re-released in IMAX. I never had the chance to see any of Ari Aster’s films in cinema, so it’s kinda funny that his movie from 6 years ago is my first lol. I enjoyed the film when it was on Netflix, BUT THIS is how it should be experienced.
The build up to when the mum walks from the house to her car is really intense. I never realised it when I was watching it at home, and I was always confused how she found out about Charlie because I just remembered it cut to Toni Collette screaming/crying.
There are so many details/foreshadowing that I noticed, and a lot of them had to do with the mother-son dynamic.
The most annoying thing is that during Annie’s nightmare where she talks to Peter in his room, the surround sound picks up on the song that Peter was listening to while he was sleeping. I’ve heard this song before so many times, and I genuinely don’t know what it’s called. I’ve tried Googling it but no one has answered it.
