trigger warning sana sa mao zedong eme
kagabi, nanonood ako sa youtube: directing stlye of andrei tarkovsky | studio binder. tas ayun, nakita ko yung clip na naglalakad yung female lead habang nag na-narrate yung tatay ni tarkovsky ng poem niya. there's so much emotion sa lakad na 'yon, and there's so much deep sa recited poem. from that scene alone, i am sold, i needed to watch this film i said.
tas ayun, pinanood ko ito kaninang umaga, 5:30 am. i dunno, maybe it's the serene sunrise, pero sobrang sarap panoorin ng pelikulang ito? hindi ako magmamagaling na gets ko mga ganap. but, it's so soothing, calming, meditative to the point na images flashes, poetries recited, conversations goes, na bigla ko lang na ga-grasp mga bagay-bagay?
and pagdating sa dulo, sobrang in awe na lang ako sa napanood ko. unang pelikula pa lang 'to ni tarkovsky, but i could still feel his grasp in making this film as his ode to his mother, his early years, and to his life. siya na rin naman nagsabi na yung art ay it's his prayer. although it's tarkovsky's life, it's also his mother's and kind a heroic (thanks studiobinder little bio about him) i think. especially with that ending of going through the meadows, leading her grandsons to the light as we dolly out and fade into black.
and who would've thought, yung panonood ko ng documentary about hemingway ay makakatulong dito? hahahahha bull fighting, world war i, effects of world war ii, spanish civil war, communism bwaahahha angas. at dito pala nakuha ni lav diaz yung shot na yun na ginamit niya sa film niya bwahahahh love it. art converses with each other!!!
so with that... palit top 4 ulit!
