RIPLEY

(Modern) classic I never watched the old movie or read the book, so when I was told how great this show apparently is I doubted it. How could a story that was adapted into a 2 hour film be remade as a whole black and white series that spans over double the runtime of the movie? But I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest after watching. Ripely the show and Ripley the character are both incredibly complex. The whole black and white thing fits the show perfectly and I actually can’t imagine it in any other way after watching. The cinematography is gorgeous, capturing the beautiful places this is shot in perfectly. The story itself is also very interesting, following the bad guy and somehow making the viewer root for him. The acting is insanely good from everyone involved and it is what I liked the most about the series. I have to say tho that I think it dragged just a little bit sometimes, but that is a minor complaint to a great show that actually motivates me to maybe watch the movie or read the book one day.
