Words cannot express how amazing this film is, from so many different aspects it inspires me to create and to make something that I believe in, you can tell that the director of this film was a film nerd and that he believed in what he was making even if it's basic on the surface, what he's made is a gift to cinema and to those who value films in general, it's genius simplicity and attention to detail is something every single up and coming artist/creator should take inspiration from, this is truly the ultimate indie film, from character design to the soundtrack (goat soundtrack btw) to the shot angles, it is beautifully put together. (Fun fact: This film's production budget was just $400,000 and it made $46.1 million, that explains a lot about why it's so phenomenal, he made something very ordinary seem very extraordinary.)

They really couldn't have casted better actors for this film, each actor really knew their place and excelled in their roles, there was kind of a "Heat" dynamic going on between the main protagonist and antagonist which is always pleasant to watch and overall this was a really solid biography of the life of "Frank Lucas" although I would've liked to see his upbringing or a prequel even, I'm pretty satisfied with what I got from this film. (I always see these big gangsters on screen and they're so bold and they always know how to reply, like damn I wish I could be as straightforward and clever with my responses) (One of my favorite Freddie Gibbs songs is called "Frank Lucas")

I really appreciate a lot about this film artistically, it was all in it's own universe and true to what it created, the art style felt like a combination of so many different things, from the "Warioware" game characters to "Interstella 5555" by "Daft Punk", it was truly unique and creative, both the dialogue and the hand-drawn frames felt like they were straight out of a manga, I enjoyed being immersed into that world but storyline wise, I felt like there could've been more depth and substance to it, it was interesting but it didn't tap into the potential that I hoped it would, the runtime was hindering it as well, I did enjoy what I watched as it is though, especially since all of it was hand drawn over the span of 7 years, I have the utmost respect for this film.

A really solid biopic, nicely organized, direct and it had a summarized but also detailed overlook into Michael's early life and the beginning's of his career, they portrayed his character development in such a precise way that really explained why and how Michael became the person he became, really a one of a kind and a unique individual that moved with purpose and sympathy within his actions and creations, if you love artistry, music, and Michael Jackson of course, you'll love this film, it felt like an experience and a journey, the concert scenes were really immersive too. (One of my favorite albums of all time is his album "Off the Wall" and for anyone tryna get into his music or the disco/funk genre in general, I'd recommend that album a 100 percent)
