“Blues wasn’t forced on us like that religion. Nah son, we brought this with us from home.” Being totally honest, I was kind of expecting to be disappointed by this movie considering all the hype around it at the same time as marty supreme and how that disappointed me. But what I was not expecting at all was to see my second 5/5 ever in a row consecutively. What an amazing experience to watch. And what an AMAZING job by Michael B Jordan which thankfully he got the Oscar he deserved, I’ve never been able to distinguish two characters so well and they were portrayed by the same actor. I also love how although it maintained some of the traditional aspects of vampire folklore it had its own kind of twist to it and didn’t just follow the norm completely. I also really loved the ending sequence when the future was presented. Seriously an amazing watch especially if you’re a huge music fan and into blues and soul. Music reigns as king. (Edit: looking at it in retrospect it’s almost a 5 but I just can’t place it in the same tier as requiem for a dream)
