Moonlight
I truly do not know what it is about A24 movies and making love stories but they hit for me every damn time.
From the brotherly love in the iron claw, the family love in everything everywhere, and now the romantic love in moonlight, I’m so blown away. All of these movies tackle love and vulnerability in a way that just really hits me in all the right ways.
My favorite part of this movie was when he got the call from Kevin, you could see just how quickly his shield goes down, the love that he had for him was something he just didn’t escape. His scene with his mother really got me too.
And side note: for YEARS I thought that the poster was just one actor, but I took a look again and realized those are all the actors that played Chiron????? It is such a perfect illusion and looks incredible now i want a poster of it to hang in my room. I love this movie so much this was amazing.
