Avengers: Infinity War
I mean this is THE superhero movie.
The MCU being knows as an ambitious franchise really showed their fans what being ambitious really means.
The Russo brothers manage the film’s plot exceedingly well, juggling dozens of major characters and splitting the story into parallel threads that keep the film moving at a relentless pace without it feeling like it drags even at two and a half hours long.
As well as juggling the countless protagonists, the very clear emotional centre of the film sits with the antagonist, Thanos. His goal being twisted is internally consistent, with the film spending plenty of time with the villain to understand his logic.
It’s a visually stunning film that takes the risky route in its ending, opting for a broken and unresolved matter. Leaving the climax to end unresolved a mist our heroes attempting to repair the film’s disruption. Allowing fans to be left on the ultimate cliffhanger of our heroes fates as no new equilibrium is come to.
