Deadpool & Wolverine
Deadpool & Wolverine feels like Marvel finally remembered films are allowed to be fun. It’s chaotic, ridiculous, way too self-aware, and honestly I had a stupidly good time watching it.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have such an easy chemistry that even when the plot starts disappearing into multiverse mayhem, the film still works because watching these two argue and beat the hell out of each other never gets old. The action is brutal in the best way, the soundtrack choices are absurdly perfect, and there are a couple moments that genuinely has me feeling it.
That said, it definitely leans a little too hard on cameos and references sometimes. And emotionally, it doesn’t always dig as deep as it thinks it does.
But honestly, I didn’t really care. The film knows exactly what it is: two iconic characters crashing through the MCU with maximum violence and minimum dignity. And after years of overly polished superhero movies, that kind of messy energy felt refreshing.
See you when you’re 90.
