Pearl

I don't know what to say when it comes to whether watching this movie first, since it's a prequel to X, or watching X first since it came out a few months ago. Either way, the two films complement each other in the best way possible. Pearl (2022) is an amazing film bright with colors and blood. It deepens the villain of our previous film and adds to her humanity. It's also sort of surreal to watch considering it takes place during the pandemic of the Spanish Flu and we are still going through a pandemic now. Ti West continues to have things to say about gender roles, marriage, and sexuality but on an even greater level. Mia Goth is absolutely delightful as the aspiring Pearl whose ambitions have been ruined by her husband (Howard). Definitely something to experience yourself!
