Submarine
I’ve loved a lot of films but nothing has come close to my love for Inside Llewyn Davis but Submarine has done it.
A grand yet small film that is really gonna become more personal to me on rewatches.
Ayoade really crafted a beautiful stylistically film that I could easily compare to that of Wes Anderson yet he makes it fresh and his own, I’ve been a fan of Ayoade for at least 11 years now since I first saw him in the show The Mighty Boosh this was only in an acting form, I know he loves films and he’s brilliantly smart and funny so I always knew I was gonna love his filmography, I’m sad it’s taken me this long to start it but I’m so glad I have.
He could easily be up there with some of the top directors working today if he produced more films, I can’t wait to watch his next film.
(Also check out his books, a great insight into film and filmmaking, the man is brilliant and anyone could learn so much from him)
