the joy & wonder & hope this movie gave me was insane. I felt like I could take on the world, I felt like being a better person, I felt... super, man. I had no expectations because I'm not a DC girl which honestly made this even better, the whole film was a pleasant surprise!
I was so gagged, another mystery movie! I think I always tend to favor the mystery movies because I experience them so organically; no spoilers, no edits, no reviews. this was everything I wanted and more! beautifully colored, hilarious, incredible editing, shockingly original plot, and of course an incredible needle drop at the end of the film.
I saw the regal listing for this and thought 'diabolical runtime' and then prepared for the best nap of my life, but I was hooked from the first scene. a true standout in the lineup of releases this year. it's not going to win any awards, but I had such a good time at the theater.
patrick wilson & vera farmiga's facecards are so powerful they got me to go to the theater to see a movie I had absolutely zero interest in just a week before. I think my viewing experience was heavily impacted by the full theater, there's nothing like watching a horror film in a room full of people jumping & screaming & laughing. there were some incredibly strong scares & some incredibly strong jokes! I loved the whole ed & tony plot because that is exactly how I would react in that situation, what do you mean you want to marry my daughter 6 months after meeting her? and you bought the ring a week into your relationship? you'll come back in a month to ask for my blessing again? oh I was giggling in the theater.
I was hesitant to see this after the previous marvel movies that had come out, but this was great. I didn't expect to cry and I did... several times. one of two films I've seen this year that end with the power of friendship saving the day.
craziest mystery movie I've been to, great effects and fun action sequences. there wasn't a dull moment and jack quaid is such a charming lead I loved it!
I genuinely believe that this will be the movie timothee chalamet is remembered for in 30 years
so cute! I wish they kept more of the world building scenes and expanded upon the ben & rachel plot. definitely could have benefited from another 15-20 minutes
turns out i actually don't mind the components of born sexy yesterday when the person is a celestial being
please don't hate me for this, but I was underhwelmed. of course I cried during for good, but that's because it's for good and has nothing to do with the execution of the film. it retains all the flaws of wicked act II and even creates some new ones. anyways, love no good deed!
i haven't stopped thinking about the purple rain scene and i think that should count for something. and i cannot believe this series is over, i quite literally grew up with the party.
so sad it's over, yes there are so many issues with this but I'm such a sucker for a MI film
the premise is so good, the execution is so bad if this was made in 2004 it would honestly be better
