Beau Is AfraidCameron M9.6· April 22, 2023FollowA movie about a man overcoming the guilt and anxiety caused by his mothers abuse, this is a very divisive movie and I think you either love it or you hate it but I definitely loved it. From the very beginning we see Beaus anxiety about the world projected around him, with everything that could go wrong, going wrong in the worst way possible, until finally after gets hit by a truck and adopted into the family that hit him. This family who at first seem very caring (with the exception of the daughter) mimic the mothers forced love with Beau having no say in the role in the family and after being accused of killing the daughter is attacked by them and is forced to flee into the forest with their sons war buddy on his tracks. It's in the forest where Beau meets a support group of 'orphans' just like him and through a play is shown a life where he is free from his guilt and anxiety which inspires him to live his life and stand up to his mother. Then Joaquin Phoenix fuks a lady to death and sees a penis monster. Most people would say that he got a bad ending, but after being persecuted in the most literal sense by his mother and his defense literally being thrown out the window he finally realizes nothing he does or says means anything to her and she just hates him, he accepts it and goes quietly without any begging or asking for help, in death he finally lived his life how he wanted.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
