wanted to write a funny one liner but i can’t, sorry, this film took all the one liners in the world and put in the script.
i just find crazy how i’ve had this film on my watchlist for like 2 years because i avoided watching anything related to friendship because of how bad my friendships were and how many bad experiences i’ve had with them.. and now i’m crying to this film because i’m graduating in 3 weeks and i’m not going to be in school with my best friend again.
this film was seriously one of the funniest things i’ve watched, i was crying laughing every 2 seconds and i’m not even kidding, the comedic timing and every single joke just feels so natural, american high school seems like such a fun thing, they’re all so witty and hit the spot in every single joke. I loved how openly they spoke about femininity and the female experience in general, its so often we hear and see films that touch on every single topic on earth (even the most “taboo” ones) from the male perspective and its so refreshing to watch a film that understands and shows that stuff like masturbation is completely normal! I didn’t think i was going to cry or get so emotional about this film but Amy and Molly’s friendship is genuinely one of the most wholesome and beautiful and realistic portrayals of female friendships in media, i love how positive they were about female relationships in general and showed how complex these really are, i love them so much and i’m so grateful to have a friendship like theirs in my life.
I had really high hopes for this film and i’m so happy it exceeded them!!!
