Dune

Yea this is supposed to play in IMAX CLEARLY. My original criticism of the Harkonnens doesn’t even feel like it holds much weight compared to how great this movie truly is. Swapping the political intrigue of the book for more emotional stakes pays off tremendously, as the deaths in this movie feel so much more tragic, as does the descent of our main hero as well. The music and editing do wonders throughout this gargantuan film, and the visuals need no comment for how stellar they truly are. This is a filmmaking masterclass, and I can’t wait to see what Denis has cooked for us with his companion piece to this emotional, intimate, gigantic, and fantastic adaptation. Wow.
