How a western animated film about a weird looking lizard named Rango became of the best animated features in a decade and one of my all time favorites if not favorite animated movies period, should tell you how well done every aspect of this masterpiece is (character design, rendering, shot composition and color grading, THE WRITING AND BRILLIANT STORY). “No man can walk out on his own story.” Perfection. Okay I can’t stop talking about this though, I mean what kind of animated kids movie has the balls to play Ride of the Valkyries while an inbred family of moles chases down Rango and co. ON FREAKING BATS WHILE SHOOTING MINI-GUNS AT THEM???? What kind of animated kid movie, produced by Nickelodeon OF ALL STUDIOS, has the balls to have so many amazing abstract scenes (Opening Sequence, Armadillo, Dream Sequence, Man with no Name)???? What kind of animated kids movie is so unafraid to be as bizarre as this one? Rango.
