Saving Private Ryan

War sucks. People dying has now interestingly enough made me sick to watch. I guess with age comes the understanding of the weight of certain actions, especially in movies. When I was young I thought the movie was awesome but i didn’t feel too emotional to the characters (maybe from playing COD so much). Now at 21, even seeing Germans killed is pretty hard to watch and the deep pits of humanity’s darkness within their souls is exposed in this film. But the writing, directing, productions quality and amazing editing all work together and each brilliantly in their own way to help make this film populated with extremely well developed and performed characters that are given enough scenes interacting with each other to become fully developed and three dimensional characters by the hour mark of the film. Just masterful work by one of cinema’s most influential and famous names.
