Superman
RAHHHH HAHAHHA
THIS IS SO GOOD
i have been loyal to marvel forever, but this? this really has me questioning where my loyalties lie.
james gunn’s superman isn’t about being the biggest or the baddest, it’s about being kind in a world that loves spectacle. it ditches the origin story and drops us into an emotionally accessible clark kent, still figuring out what his powers mean for humanity and not just for headline stunts.
david corenswet is a revelation. hopeful yet hesistant, strong yet soft. there’s no brooding here, just a man who believes goodness matters and maybe that’s the real punk rock. it’s a different shade of heroism: less myth, more human.
rachel brosnahan’s lois lane brings wit, intelligence and agency to every scene. their chemistry doesn’t boil over, it simmers. she’s not just an accessory in this movie: she is kent’s anchor.
nicholas hoult’s lex luther is not a villain scheming for power, he’s a man motivated by jealousy and wounded pride and watching him orchestrate geopolitical chaos is chilling. his vendetta is personal, petty and scary smart.
gunn’s tonal control is what nails it. he leans into the character’s corniness, embracing it as essential to superman’s DNA. the world feels big, bright and morally complex all at once. by the finale, you feel it. a flood of empathy, and pride and relief. it’s not just another superhero movie, it is a statement. kindness matters, and it can be revolutionary.
he is superman, let him be super.
krypto the superdog? i need five of him right now.
