Eternity
A genuine surprise of a movie, I only knew of the cast and the premise going into it, didn't even bother to check IMDb or rotten scores, but I expected a more or less standard romance, and that snostly what they delivered but they did so very well. All of the cast, main and supporting, had moments to shine. Davine Randolph being a clear standout in her role, I honestly felt more compelled to watch her than the core cast. I wanted her to have a more fleshed out reason for refusing an eternity but they let her character down there.
Above the core story of divided love, I feel the world. they cultivated in this was so interesting. A purgatory like base world where occupants are given a week to choose an eternal life, and eternities are pitched like vacation packages. Even the veteran dead souls don't know the full truth of their circumstances. They continue to operate as on earth, just adherence to the existing rule set. It raises so many questions, how does this world work, why are there distinct eternities, why are there limits to them, why can't you leave them? and the punishment for leaving is an eternity I. pure darkness, the void. All of that seems like it justifies the existence of an eternity show, and I'd watch the hell out of it.
Back to the movie, it genuinely made me laugh and kept me engaged, but it did drag near the end, anddd the end pissed me off but otherwise, great movie and everyone should watch it.
