He really likes to make “movies”. I mean everything about this is text book “movie”.  I don’t hate it, I think for a younger audience it’s very magical what he does and the way he works with the camera still feels fresh but to me this film is kind of the reason why most grow out of his films, it’s sweet it’s familiar (a little too familiar, he’s kind of made this film twice already) but we grow as artists and consumers of art, I thought this would be more darker more mature Spielberg, it felt weirdly different like a new era, but it wasn’t and that disappointed me.  Nonetheless an enjoyable time if you go into it knowing that you’ll get “close encounters 2026” Edit: honestly this movie kind of sucked, in the theater it’s not bad I’m enjoying my time, but now that I’m thinking about it, this shit was corny asf, “are they children” “no” “are they people” “no” “are they human”  “no”  Ohhhh my godd why do you keep asking the same question, it’s the most alien looking alien ever
