The Father
I’ve worked in elderly care for five years now, and I’ve met many patients with dementia, so watching this hit really hard. While everyone’s experience is different, I think this film portrayed living with dementia quite accurately in many ways, especially in how it captures disorientation and confusion of time. Many people think of memory loss when they hear “dementia,” but that’s only a part of it, there’s so much more. Anthony Hopkins once again delivers a powerful five star performance. His expressions, the sadness and confusion in his eyes, were heartbreaking.
