For a long time I’ve only ever known one thing about this movie which was “Robert Pattinson dies in 9/11.” And that being the ending to what I assumed was a rom com was so fucking funny to me. I was wrong about it being a rom com, it’s actually far more serious in tone than I anticipated. And it’s pretty generic and sometimes boring, but never like really *bad* I thought. Pattinson is good (he can’t be bad). And I’m watching Lost for the first time right now, so right away when Ally’s first scene happens I went “oh shit, that’s Claire from Lost!” Anyway, watched with a friend cause they said that they didn’t know how the movie ended when I asked them, and it’s just so fucking funny to me how out of the blue that ending is. Alright movie overall

One of my friend’s favorite movies, so they wanted to show it to me, and *wow *it was fucking crazy 😭 So much of this is flat out batshit insane in a way that I *kinda *fuck with. Songs were all cool. I didn’t know Paul Sorvino could sing. And the concept behind the world building and the story was all really interesting actually. A lot of really cool and interesting ideas smashed together in a wild fucking movie that goes all out in many aspects. Multiple scenes either left me dazed or laughing at how ridiculous it was. Really fun time

“**Who can tell me the speed of light?**” I was really worried I wasn’t gonna love this as much as a lot of people were, cause I read the book and I was worried they’d fuck some of it up (the book is phenomenal). But MAN they really nailed it. About as perfect as an adaptation gets. Rockets through the book at lightning pace, but not in a way that felt forced or unnatural. And all the stuff they left out or cut down made sense to do so with. And they got the ending PERFECT. FLAWLESS execution of the ending. This deserves a nomination for Best Casting at the Oscars next year for Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace alone. Couldn’t imagine anyone else in the role. He fits it so perfectly. Absolutely adore his performance here, he’s my fucking goat. So hilarious, really pulls off the emotional scenes so well, and does a lot of stuff physically that was such a treat. Also adored the dynamic between him and Rocky. By the end I’m not even really thinking about the fact that one of them is a rock spider-esque creature. Like that’s just best pals Rocky and Grace. And they were so fucking funny together too. Oh my god, probably the most I’ve laughed during a movie all year so far. Lastly, a little more random rambling: Pemberton’s score was magnificent. Fraser’s cinematography was gorgeous as always. A couple scenes especially will probably remain as some of the most visually stunning of the year. Lord and Miller really delivered easily the best work of their careers, not close. I’m just so happy. Left the theater straight up buzzing. What an incredible, crowd pleasing, wonderful time. Might remain my favorite movie of the year until The Odyssey comes out

Being honest with myself, I’m prolly bring my score down to four eventually, but idrc right now cause that was so. fucking. fun!! God, these movies are so great. I’ve loved everything from Radio Silence, they’re awesome. I was a little hesitant when I heard they were making a sequel, cause it didn’t really seem necessary. But kinda like Toy Story 4, even though we didn’t *need *it, I’m so glad it exists cause it’s great!! Samara Weaving still iconic. Still with the best scream of anyone in Hollywood. Kathryn Newton perfect casting as her sister. Their dynamic was great, she was so funny, *loved *those two together. The whole rest of the cast is great too. That’s one thing I actually think they did better in this one is the ensemble. Such a fantastic cast, all with some seriously hilarious standout moments. And man, the ending was *perfect*. Couldn’t have been better. I can’t imagine how they’d do a third one if they felt like it, that feels like a flawless place to end it. But if they do decide to make it a trilogy, imma just let them cook and trust they know what they’re doing. So so great, so much fun, I really love both of these movies a lot. I already wanna do a double feature of them both. They fit seamlessly together (literally).
