Rashomon
This is my new favorite among Kurosawas work, and my first time giving the director a perfect score. The three narrators taking refuge under the Rashomon city gate are, to me, moral archetypes. Similar to the professor, the writer, and the stalker in Tarkovsky’s “Stalker.” There’s so much to love here and it’s a masterclass in displaying the opposing political ideologies we use to observe society.
