A Complete Unknown
My grandma introduced me to bob dylan and recently gave me a lot of his vinyls, she also told me about some of the shows she attended and other stories involving him. But with all the good she also told me all the bad, and what i’m so grateful for is that this movie didn’t stray away from showing the bad. Too often do this modern artist biopics attempt to portray the artist as this “tortured poet with a heart of gold” or some bs. I was so happy that between the writing of the movie and Timothée Chalamet’s performance, we got to see that yes he was incredibly talented and positively politically progressive, but he was also kind of an awkward piece of shit that was a piece of shit to a lot of the women in his life. Having the conflict not just be his own struggles but also the struggles of the ensemble made this movie 10x better then what it could’ve been without. all of the actors were great and Timmy tim tim sounded just about as close to bob dylan as you can get without being him.
