Blood Simple

oh i loved this movie a LOT. the MUSIC first of all is so good, the accents, the pure horrible ANXIETY you get with almost every scene. the colors at the bar, being buried while still half alive, blood leaking through the pastel yellow towel. gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous film i ADORE that gritty sort of southern gothic look in film so much. and SO MANY surprises my goodness. marty being shot was such a shock to me. ray NOT being shot was also such a shock to me. the water dripping down abby’s face in the dream, the sweat dripping down her face as she wakes up. the paranoia that comes with being both a cheater and a murderer. miscommunication has never been more lovely. the world is full of complainers for real
