Burning
new review cause i thought everything about this movie was already felt and talked about but then i realised people will completely write away anything that makes them use their head while watching (i will blame this on the fact that i am mostly seeing reviews from 2018 and truly think that 2016 till 2020 was a world wide intellect gap and dark times for human kind) But this movie was everything people make it out to be. i think any bad/good review is a bust if you dont speak of the one bringing everything together and that is steven yeun. he is wonderful and truly thriller esque even terrifying in the start of the movie when you have nothing to be suspicious about. many think the mystery surrounding ben is boring and drawn out clearly making us lack the context clues to put something concrete together but i think its exactly what makes him out to be what the character became. from what i think he does not believe in wrong or right and like the movie said situational existence, that he who 'burned that greenhouse' and the one before that is the exact same person that alone makes him terrifying. he does not believe anything that he does will leave a mark and that is exactly seen through the way he talks abt the greenhouses in that scene. the language he uses is also exact and even more terrifying.. when he calls the food he prepares for himself an offering to himself and then fast forward to the second to last scene where he puts makeup on the girl hes dating like hes preparing her.. guys please.
many things abt this movie immediately clicked for me but what interested me the most was the fact that jongsu seemed to only remember haemi when it came to sexual acts as we do not see him act loving towards her any other time but then he reacts off that and basically slutshamed her even tho he is the only who treats her like that which hints to the jealousy and also a callback to the anger issues his dad had. great movieeeeee 🥹
