“I'm letting life hit me until it gets tired. Then I'll hit back. It's a classic rope-a-dope.” It’s a love story, but to me it will always be a story of chasing your dreams. How many hits can you take? How long can your fire burn in a cold world before it goes out? When do your dreams change? I aspire for artistic dreams. I compromise for stability..try to convince myself it’s more aligned with my dreams than it really is. One day I hope to courageously attempt to make the art I truly want to make. Sebastian and Mia are the push and pull of the artists life. For all the times I laugh in the film, there are scenes that bring me to tears. Even without the themes that connect with me so much, it’s confident, beautiful, unique, nostalgic, playful, flowing, and it’s a film I will always love. 😌
