at some point during the runtime the idea that i was watching a film dissolved and i was just truly invested in the lives of this family and hoped everything would turn out alright.
every performance was incredible even the child actors and the fact that every plotline was resolved with such clarity was impressive as this was nearly 3 hours.
most of the shots felt like they could be a painting and each time the scene changed i was always reengaged with what was happening.
i never found the pacing to be a problem because before long we were following a different character. only towards the end did i start to feel the runtime a bit.
the sad parts didn’t get me until yang-yangs speech at the end. “When I grow up I want to show people the things that they can’t see.”
