The Long Walk
Bartolovich airballed so hard on a joke that he just decided to become public enemy #1.
The actor playing Hank Olson was outstandingly phenomenal. That goes for just about everyone in this movie. The Best Casting category in the Oscars should be more centered towards films like this, Marty supreme, and Weapons.
It’s so simple but beautiful to capture the tiny moments of kindness in such an eviscerating dystopian world. Our two main characters talk about that idea along their journey but the few scenes where we see that brought to light are so admirable. The kind of movie to make you reflect on the existence of organisms and how sophisticated we have to be to conjure up stories like this. Stephen King has never written an uninteresting idea.
I feel really terrible for saying “wanna know how I got these scars” to myself for 2 hours but ah well.
Best part of this movie is how vulnerable people are willing to get once they know their time is up. Scenes like the death of Art and Olson really give all these actors opportunities to flourish.
I’m also really proud of mark Hamill for not looking like old Luke skywalker.
