Adolescence
“most boys would’ve touched her. so that makes me better. don’t you think?”
insane line. insane show. insane actors. holy crap.
the fact that this is all filmed in one shot. one shot for each episode is so crazy, 1 hour episodes. the main characters actor was 14, 14 memorizing all those lines in ONE TAKE. that is crazy insane to do and to stay in character for that time is so wild. if you mess up one thing they have to redo the whole episode. i love the camera work, how they change from a standard rolling camera to a drone so easily (no cuts still!) episode 3 was insane and it shows so many powerful themes. this series deserves so many awards, the actors especially the little boy playing Jamie deserves all the awards an actor can get. the emotions are so pure and it hurts especially when Jamie asks if she likes him and the emotions are so real and you really get insight onto the kids life and how his mind works. it follows such powerful themes of social media and how it has an influence on kids these days and the masculinity and how a man really feels, even considering that he is supposed to be 13 and he still feels that way. i can’t imagine what it would be like to be in the girls perspective who was interviewing him her emotions were so genuine and it’s so hard to conflict a murder case onto a child, blaming him for murder of another child that is so hard to do and this series did it in ONE TAKE FOR EACH EPISODE. theese are real things that happen in real life so imagining them as shown is truly insane. this show is ones i think everyone needs to watch this once in their life.
