The Lighthouse
‘I tend the light.’
Watching The Lighthouse is less like watching a film and more like staring into the gaping eye of an ancient god. The monochrome palette is fascinating. It strips the world of comfort and distraction. Another thing I loved was the sound design and if I’m being honest at some parts I thought it was playing ‘Perverts’ by Ethel Cain. Furthermore, I really really loved the Prometheus allegory. Eggers is easily my 2nd favourite director (after Yorgos Lanthimos).
