while i know the plot is... nothing like *the secret history*, i do think this movie is the closest thing to an adaptation i've seen till now. i wouldn't know how to explain. there's something about this movie. the vibe? definitely matt damon and his glasses. gwyneth paltrow. jude law too, in a way. americans in old italy, cigarettes everywhere, suits. pathological lies, manipulation, murder. homoerotic stuff. parallels, foreshadowing... fuck it, even cate blanchett. *tsh* is a book that i hold dearly even with it's tragic and rather dark themes, and i have a feeling i will appreciate this movie in a similar way. also, oh my god. that's LITERALLY bunny corcoran
