This is now one of my favorite movies? In the intro Gaspar talked about how Monica considers it a feminist film and he said that it’s a man showing how bad men can be. I love movies like this one or the films of Lars Von Trier because I think men can depict not only how cruel men can be, but how casually. Love his sense of color and how he is able to so deeply unsettle the viewer with his filmmaking during the opening scenes at The Rectum. And I appreciate how matter of factly the rape scene is presented. Women are unphased because they’ve imagined this so many times and men faint because they’ve never bothered to sit with the reality of it. Genius storytelling, a masterpiece.
