This felt so structurally unstructured and I liked that

Worst part of this was having to look away from the gorgeous animation to read the subtitles This is so awesome

The fight animation is so satisfying everytime This got me way more emotional than I was prepared for

I can look past the propaganda, but I cannot ignore how bland and suspense free this is (which is clearly a result of making sure you don’t forgot the propaganda ) Kurosawa does do some interesting stuff with the characters though, and although it’s never alluded to directly in the film, there is a kind of sorrow energy radiating off the apparently optimistic themes Seeing Kurosawa’s comments about this afterwards definitely makes it a more interesting experience, not a more interesting film lol, but more interesting as a look at a moment of time
