Hostel
If heterosexual camp existed this could be it. With annoying characters (and surprisingly a solid scream king), Roth manages to weave an interesting tale of capitalism and commodification of bodies. The movie toes the line of having meaningful commentary, if you read between the lines, and exploitation of the very parties it means to defend. The cinematography is nothing to write home about, the premise is stellar, and is one of the most homophobic queer films I've seen. The special effects are wonderful. Overall, Roth crafts a film that is deeply entrenched in the politics of the time resulting in a weird movie filled with homophobia, xenophobia, misogyny, but also attempts to critique these very power systems in place (through its examination of capitalism).
