Sentimental Value
how dare a movie casually speak to me, run through the traumas of an eldest daughter, remind me of the horror of having a physically present father but emotionally and mentally absent one, and made me realized that despite carrying voids within me, i will always be the “ate”/sister my siblings would talk about to other people — proud and loved.
casting are on point. no heavy scenes but it surely left an imaginable angst within me. the one—liners BROKE ME. I SAID THE ONE—LINERS BROKE ME.
“I want a home”
“You had me”
“Cut. Perfect”
and i personally think that, gustav created a story that will resonate with or like embody his daughter, Nora, and wanted to cast her to at least witness what Nora went through since he wasn't there during those times 🙁
