Jane Eyre
ABSOLUTELY losing my mind over the 'string under my ribs' monologue. The way Rochester looks Jane in the eye and says his soul is LITERALLY knotted to hers and that he'd hemorrhage to death if they're apart... I actually stopped breathing.
Like, Rochester pls I have a family!! How are we supposed to go back to modern dating after this?
Victorian men were really out here making 'I like you' sound like a literal medical emergency. The bar isn't just raised, it's in a different century at this point. I am officially bleeding inwardly.
5/5 stars for the yearning.
