have complained about people logging tv shows on here and yet here i am went thru all this again (by choice!) and needed a record of it reread the book at the same time and it is just such a genius piece of art and adaptation

the best greatest movie ever made actually  sometimes watching a movie feels like having an experience for the very first time of someone’s life you would never know otherwise. it is an exercise in empathy, in broadening your worldview, in understanding someone else’s perspective.  this movie feels like the absolute complete opposite of that. like a window into my heart and soul. (it is often i feel like this when jenny slate is in projects, or writes a book, or exists in the world)  so yes greatest movie ever made

this destroyed me

Went in with huge expectations and feel let down. Great beginning loses its footing very fast. There is some good here, but the fact that the first two characters killed are black queer women, while the white gay character survives as the final girl left a bad taste in my mouth. You don’t make a horror slasher without knowing the rules of its genre, and horror has treated its black characters too badly for too long.
