Two things… One: If you watched this and thought Bear was the victim…GO FALL IN A WELL OR A DITCH. Two: the bodily waste scene and the car scene have genuinely fucked me up for life, Inde Navarrette you have a genuine future as a scream queen. Also the way they use the lighting to make the distinction between her and the difference since he made the wish was magnificent.

I decided to rewatch this after seeing an edit of it with one of my favorite Malcolm Todd songs. I always end up forgetting about movies that I loved when i was in high school/middle and it felt refreshing to rewatch this because I absolutely love it. Especially because I feel like now that I’m older I am able to appreciate it way more now than before.

So to start I will say I did have some fun with this movie, I loved the cameos and the references, I enjoyed the connects to galaxy and even Odyssey which I kinda wasn’t expecting. But I just hate that the story was so rushed, like the potential in my opinion was very much there like it had steam in the beginning then it just fell flat going into the second half. Specifically they rushed with Bowser’s character depth here the most, because it seems like the writers opted out of the “Fake play like I’m on the protagonist side and really changed but I’m gonna show them that actually I’m not” because it would be too obvious and on the nose but I would’ve rather them do that than what was given in the movie. I also didn’t like how they made it seem like Princess Rosalina would be a big character just for them to COMPLETELY underutilize her! How do you say she’s the most “powerful princess in the universe” then proceed to have her in scenes for 5 seconds that were just to remind you that she exists. All that build up for NOTHING! Now while I did love Yoshi my real favorite out of this whole movie was…FOX MCCLOUD!! I’m sorry everything about him in this movie was so freaking AWESOME! I fully came into this expecting him to be some half-assed cameo that made 0 sense but I was thoroughly surprised when they made him like a full side character that was apart of the crew during the second half. Now I will say this movie usually would be in my list for not that good but is gonna make a shitload of money so it’ll get another movie even if it doesn’t really deserve it/need it, I’m gonna go against my better judgment after that final credit scene and say ILLUMINATION MAKE THE THIRD MOVIE AND MY LIFE IS YOURS I NEED TO SEE MY QUEEN DAISY ON THE BIG SCREEN I WILL SIGN MY SOUL TO YOU PLEASEEEEEEE!
