Pan's Labyrinth
genius with his hands and genius with his eyes I just can’t stop being amazed by the visuals Del Toro keeps putting in front of me. On top of storytelling that keeps you in, Del Toro just puts the most beautiful shot to stun you.
Something about us needing fantasies to be real so we can escape the outside world. Even with the story being amazing it’s not the war parts of the movie being talked about it’s the fantasy parts of the film that are stamped in cinema history even though they are probably a third of this movie. Del Toro probably designed it this way to mimics real life as when we hear about wars in history we only hear about the victories and celebrations but never disgusting tactics that went into getting the victory. Yea the characters are amazing but we are always gonna remember the visuals of the faun and the pale man.
No one doing it like Del Toro.
