This film should’ve been longer and should’ve explored more on Ben. He was a really interesting character and I think the relationship between Sasha and him had a lot of room to evolve into something more complex. There was already a lot of interesting moments between them that could’ve explored more about how they’re emotionally damaged I think the group of men should’ve come back and could have actually been the ones to find Sasha and end up helping her which subverts her expectations even more They should’ve done more with Ben’s teeth. The look of the orange from the pepper spray with the sharped teeth gives this tribal look that I think could’ve been explored even more to which Ben could’ve transformed down to his primal instincts at the end of the film I had no idea Eric Bana is Australian, thought he was just really good at the accent 😭 Taron Egertons Australian accent really wasn’t bad. I think making his character originally come from England to make up for any gaps in the accent was too easy of a cop out and there wasn’t any dips in the accent that I noticed so it wasn’t really necessary This film was more interesting than I expected but I think they could have done a lot more with it The action shots like the one where Sasha slips and falls into the river was really cool

The second half of this film is significantly better The first half of the film had me sitting there like ??? is this the same film company?? It’s pretty much the first film with like only really major tweaks at the end The pepper spray scene was one of the best scenes in the film, first scene I audibly laughed at A lot of the dialogue feels super cliche which made it hard to listen to A lot of cliche tropes too, made things predictable

Finishing this film just makes you want to watch it again because it’s such an “Ohhh shit” moment Told myself I wouldn’t cry when I finished it Spoilers: I did The details becoming changed and altered when memories fade is so good and so heartbreaking Jack looks too Irish to be an American but I appreciate the effort 😭 I love watching people be in love Hate watching people fall out of love That mix is done so well and my heart hurts Alzheimer’s has become a thing that feels very normalized in our society but when you are confronted with it in this way, in a way that makes it feel real and relatable, it becomes a lot more heartbreaking I think if Alzheimer’s was common amongst young people, there would be a lot more care for it

I think the ending was formulated in a more interesting way than the book was From what I remember, Andrew wasn’t as crazy as he is in the film when it comes to his response to Millie at the end Brandon and Amanda are sooo good. They’re so in it the whole time. Brandon was not afraid to get so batshit and I love that. Andrew wasn’t as batshit in the book and I like that he was here I don’t believe that Millie was in prison for 10 years, she looks like she just came out of an H&M I pictured Daisy Edgar Jones in the book and seeing Sidney Sweeney as Millie was completely different to what I had in mind The dialogue did feel like it was meant for an audience stuck to their phones and I feel like it took out the nuance that was in the book The house looked just like what I pictured when I read the book except for the attic, I thought it would be darker and immediately less home-ey
