Frankenstein
not something…someone. ••imagine not liking this movie. couldn’t be me (im based). honestly though, i really don’t think this movie is for the casuals. it’s long and people can’t stay off their phones for the life of them (brains are fried) to begin with, but then add in the fact that it’s long and it’s a very shakespearean-esque romantic tragedy amongst a number of other things only an elevated population can grasp.
for real though, i loved this. first of all, book jacob elordi for a best actor nom already. if he doesn’t get a nom, we’re doing some damage. he was absolutely wonderful and i actually think it was for the best that he got it since andrew garfield couldn’t. oscar isaac? i love him normally, yet he made me hate him quite passionately (complimentary). mia goth was good and did what she had to do, which unfortunately wasn’t much, but she killed it nonetheless and seemed to fit right in.
visually, this movie is peak start to finish. the lighting decisions and the coloring and the set designs, etc…it all felt pretty darn genuine and i felt like i was there, while also feeling the fantastical elements of it.
great score. great sound design. great directing (just throwing that in casually cause i gotta pee asap but guillermo COOKED big time).
nothing was bad and a lot of yall suffer from media illiteracy. i’m gonna read the book i think so i can fully dunk on some people.
movie of the year perhaps! ☺️☺️
oh AND of course, the writing FUCKED. so many banger lines. i was assaulted with bangers. dozens of bangers! ok i gotta pee byeeee
edit: while you are alive, what recourse do you have but to live?
