incredibile filmmaking from every single point of view...i expected great things from this director because i heard he was really good , and i have to say the expectations were met !!
this simple style of directing reminded me of Edward yang with Yiyi (which i loved), the events seen from different povs reminded me of Rashomon and since they were repeated through details in common they reminded me ESPECIALLY of Elephant by gus van sant (which i really liked too)
all this AND YET this was a completely unique experience... it always keeps you guessing, and wondering about quite literally anything, but never to the point where u start getting confused!!
it felt a quite a bit longer than 2 hours but there's absolutely nothing i would've cut out soo its fine, great pacing
i was looking for a new director with a lot of great movies and i feel like this opened a world of great movies by him and i geniunely cant wait to watch his other ones
its safe to say i really enjoyed it!! after a short break with movies, im really happy i chose this to watch out of all the fucking movies in my watchlist!!!
GO HIROKAZU KORE-EDA !! i believe in ur skills, pls dont disappoint me...
