This is the first movie I’ve ever rewatched that truly broke me, every single time I watch it, I cry, it’s devastating to see how time can rob someone of their glory and fame, how is anyone supposed to cope with a reality that bitter and lonely, while desperately trying to claw their way back to power? It’s honestly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, she was just looking for love, and the moment she felt it, it was like everything came rushing back ،she felt like she owned the world, I don’t see this film as a portrait of vanity or narcissism, to me, it’s about deep denial, she just couldn't process the harsh reality that she had lost everyone who ever loved her ... that she had lost her capacity to be loved, it’s a masterpiece, and everyone needs to see it
