the marketing is great, but the actual movie is very shallowly written. There wasn't much shown about his life, the only thing the film was **mainly** based on his relationship with his father. Whereas it was nice to listen to 'his' concerts, his voice from scratch, the ending was very sudden.

the animation is stunning and runs smoothly, but there were some gaps in the plot and sometimes I felt like it was all happening too fast.

this movie made me feel compulsive obsessive. perfect for an adhd person.

Casting Jim Carroll as a person who represents him after what he has been through is amazing as well as heartbreaking.
