I want to like this movie, I really do, but I just can't. The character of Poppy... I'm sorry but I found her unbearable and just straight up annoying, yes, I' am aware that I'm proving her point when she was talking to Alex and said that she was scared of being 'too much'. I rarely come across this feeling where a character is annoying me so much that it actually makes me want to never finish the movie, although I somehow pushed through, hoping that maybe it'd get better later on in the run. Did it? Well, not for me, I still found her character annoying till the end. And as for Alex... there were a few moments that he also got on my nerves, but it wasn't that bad to the point of wanting to turn off the movie, lol. The movie wasn't awful, it was beautiful, it made me laugh a few times, and I enjoyed it whenever Poppy was quiet (I'm sorry.) Although I gotta say it... the forced 'love confession and kiss in the rain scene'....oh god. Like I'm sorry, but couldn't you just implement it better? It was so clear that the director wanted to have that iconic and beloved scene, but for me it just felt so forced here, like it didn't come off as natural. The rain literally came out of nowhere, cause a few moments before that the weather was clear. And yes, I know that the weather can change rapidly and it can start heavy raining in a second, but still it felt forced. And as for Poppy and Alex? Well... I can't really say I'm rooting for them. Like when they got together at the wedding their 'relationship' was just straight up fucking - no talking. And then when she got home it's like she just knows what she wants now in an instant, again, I know this shit happens but once again, it just felt so rushed for me which is insane cause this movie is 2 hours. But i just can't help but feel like they really stretched out the beginning, showing of all those past vacations, then they were like "Oh shit, we already have 1,5h of the movie, let's rush it". I'm sorry but it just felt so fast paced at the end, ugh... I promise this is the last complain, but during their second and last reunition (when she came to his house I believe?) and she saw him running, the moment she said "Ugh, I hate running." ruined it for me, like it just made it feel so pretentious, like the director wanted us to go "Oh my god, she hates running but she did it for him anyway!", sorry not sorry but thee moment she said it out loud it no longer had the impact on me. Like, yes I know she said that she hates running in the beginning of the movie, and some people might've forgotten that, but still no need to be so straight up about it. When I first watched this years ago,and I saw that scene where Jennifer and Needy make out, this shit was my gay awekening, never been the same ever since. And also that scene where Jennifer says "I go both ways.", years later, I'm still not over it, and I'm still in love with Megan Fox. God, I love women.
