Before Midnight
someday i’m gonna write reviews for the first two movies because they’re my favourites but this one.. it holds a special place in my heart.
Before Sunrise and Before Sunset are the closest to what i can feel today: being young, falling in love with a total stranger, spending time together. so spontaneous right?
but in a way i’ve always been so scared about growing old and being committed to someone forever (and at the same time, that’s all i want).
Before Midnight captures why it can be scary and why it is normal. Jesse and Céline know each other perfectly and definitely know how to talk to get a reaction from one another. the whole fight scene… they’re both right, and they’re both scared to lose each other! it seems so real. what Jesse tells Céline to make her understand that this is real and to stop thinking about living in a fantasy hits me so hard. because for me the first two movies were a fantasy and that’s why Before Midnight resonates with how life and a relationship evolve.
