Soul
“What's wrong, Teach?
“…It's just I've been waiting on this day for... my entire life. I thought I'd feel different.”
“…I heard this story about a fish. He swims up to this older fish and says, "I'm trying to find this thing they call the ocean." "The ocean?" says the older fish. "That's what you're in right now." "This?" says the young fish. "This is water. What I want is the ocean."”
[Joe just stares, bewildered]
“See you tomorrow.”
This is one of the most beautiful films ever made and I won’t hear otherwise - fuck COVID for robbing us of a proper theatrical release. I still remember watching this for the first time and being brought to tears in the most hopeful way possible, every-time I rewatch it, I feel even more hope. Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Angela Bassett and even fucking Graham Norton - the entire cast, crew and team behind this film made something special
I rarely feel full ambition, lost between hobbies and interests - 22 speaks to me in ways that I haven’t really seen in other characters in films
If this ever makes its way back into theatres, I will be there and I will be crying with nothing but hopefulness
