“If you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things?” The idea of choosing love despite the pain, despite knowing the loss that comes with it, is heartbreaking in the most beautiful way. The whole concept with language is fascinating, and the alien design is so captivating. It’s such an intelligent film, but it never loses its emotional core. It feeds your brain while completely crushing your heart. It reminds me why I love Villeneuve’s approach to science fiction so much. He never misses with this kind of material.
